Isaiah spoke to a world much like ours - one soaked in darkness. Uncertain of where to turn, people sought guidance in all the wrong places - overwhelmed they looked to anyone and anything. Isaiah heralds a time when a “great light” would dawn and the land would be filled with great joy. Light dawns with a birth announcement. The fortunes of Israel as well as the whole earth, will turn on the birth of this child. This birth announces hope!
